The Faculty of Basic Medicine was established on 26 April, 2001. After 20 years of construction and development, the Faculty of Basic Medicine has been constantly rising, performing well the tasks assigned by the University in training and scientific research. The Faculty has twice been awarded the Certificate of Merit by the Minister of Health for outstanding achievements in performing tasks and twice received the title of "Excellent Labor Collective" by the Rector.
The Faculty of Basic Medicine is responsible for teaching basic Medicine subjects to the training subjects of the University, participating in providing medical examination and treatment services and community health care. The Faculty includes 6 subjects (Decision No. 952/QD-DHYTCC, signed 30 October, 2020):
- Department of Anatomy - Anapathology;
- Department of Physiology - Pathophysiology - Immunology;
- Department of Biology - Genetics;
- Department of Microbiology - Parasitology;
- Department of Biochemistry - Biophysics;
- Department of Pharmacology - Clinical pharmacy.
As of July 2021, the Faculty has 09 full-time lecturers, all doctors, including 02 Associate Professors, 05 Masters and 02 doctors. In addition to the number of permanent lecturers, the Faculty also has the participation of lecturers from the Faculty of Clinical Medicine, the University's Laboratory Center and a number of part-time lecturers working at leading hospitals in Hanoi.
In the coming time, the Faculty will continue to develop in the direction of improving teaching capacity, applying advanced teaching methods, suitable to the demands of learners. We also step up the researching in the field of basic medicine, developing cooperation with domestic and foreign training institutions to better perform assigned tasks, contributing to the overall development of the Hanoi University of Public health . Faculty's lecturers are committed to always consider learners as the center, ready to listen and share with learners in order to best meet the legitimate and reasonable demands of learners.
